A format that fits.
Use WebVTT for HTML video captions or SRT for your editing workflow. Start with an existing text-based subtitle file.
Make an existing SRT or VTT file appear earlier or later. Best for a constant delay throughout the video — no subtitle upload needed.

A fresh format. A better rhythm. Your processed subtitles will appear here.

Subtitles showing up too early? Shift them later with a positive offset. A constant shift won’t fix gradually drifting timing.
Turn captions into a readable transcript. Keep line breaks for a script, or join cues into a continuous paragraph.
No. Subtitle processing happens in a browser worker. This app has no subtitle upload endpoint or external fonts. The hosting service receives normal page requests, and the public site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for page visits and performance. See the privacy policy for details.
UTF-8 SRT and WebVTT files up to 5 MB. Basic cue timing and text are supported. VTT headers, notes, styles, cue identifiers and positioning settings are not preserved in exports; detected metadata is reported. Basic bold, italic and underline tags are kept. VTT-only voice and word timing tags are removed when exporting SRT. Word timing tags are shifted together with cue timing when exporting VTT. Video files, transcription, translation and batch processing are outside this version.
Overlapping cues are reported and preserved. A shift that would make any start time negative is rejected, with no cues deleted. Invalid timestamps and end times that precede start times must be corrected before export.
If captions appear before the matching speech, use a positive offset to make them later. If captions appear after the speech, use a negative offset to move them earlier. For example, +2 seconds changes a cue beginning at 00:00:10.000 to 00:00:12.000.
Cue durations and basic text are retained. The output stays in the input format. For WebVTT, valid word-level timestamp tags shift with their parent cue. Overlaps are reported and preserved; negative start times are blocked rather than silently deleting dialogue.
If captions are correct at the start but become progressively wrong, the problem may involve a different cut or timing drift. A single offset cannot correct changing delays. CueFern does not rescale frame rates, find speech automatically or synchronize from audio.
See a worked example in the subtitle delay guide. Use text extraction if you only need the spoken words.
